Earlier this year, Atlassian announced the highly anticipated news that data residency would be included in its Standard and Premium cloud plans with no impact on prices.
For us at DEMICON, and much as it is for Atlassian, there is an understanding that having control over where data is hosted is a requirement for customers of all sizes to adopt the cloud - not just enterprises. This week, Atlassian started officially rolling data residency across its Standard and Premium cloud plans for Jira Software, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
Below, you will find a summary of the rollout plans:
With this news, we can start working with our server customers and inform them of the data residency schedule and availability. For DEMICON customers who were previously locked in due to data residency requirements, we can start planning your migration and advise you on how to get the most cost-effective deal for your cloud migration. For server customers who have existing cloud licenses, any data required to be fixed in the U.S., EU, or Australia will be able to do so in October 2021.
To keep up to date for when data residency will be available outside of the U.S. and the EU, please continue to keep an eye on Atlassian's public cloud roadmap.
